Easel Cards - Simple To Make - Great To Look At!.....

Easel cards seem to be everywhere at the moment!

They are simple to make but look really good and they make a change from using standard Card Blanks.

There are a number of ways to make Easel Cards but here are a straight forward set of instructions for you to use.

1. This card is made from a 6” by 6” card blank.

2. Turn the card so that the fold is at the top and then measure 3” down the card.

3. Carefully fold the card along this line so that the front of the card is making the shape of a triangle with half of the base.

4. On the inside of the base fix a patterned paper of your choice.

In this card a strip of pink paper has been run along the bottom edge of the base and then the patterned paper used is Pink and Green Country Syle Check. This covers approximately 3/4 of the base and the edge has been punched with a Martha Stewart Doily Heart Punch.

5. Matt and layer a sentiment of your choice and fix it to the base near to the outside edge. (This acts as the stop and is what makes the easel shape stay in position)

6. Rubber stamp and colour your chosen image.

7. If you have Nestabilities or a large punch cut a shaped matt to mount your stamped image on. Make sure your choice of matt compliments the paper you have chosen for the base.

8. For the front of the easel you can either leave it plain and fix your matt and layered image onto it with a little embellishment around it, or, you can cover the front of the easel with a paper which compliments the base paper.

And there you will have your 1st Easel card!
