Handmade Mother's Day Cards Are So Special..........
A Handmade Mother's Day Card will be something your Mother will cherish for your years to come, and the love you put into your card making will be truly felt.
Mother's Day is celebrated around the world on different days, but here in the UK for 2010 Mother's Day is 14th March.
This cheerful card has been made using one of my favourite Penny Black stamps - the little hedgehog is so sweet. It has been coloured using Copic Marker pens in a pink and grey theme to match the Country Pink Check backgound paper. This is one of March 2010's free papers from "News and Views" but will shortly be available from Cardmaking-Ideas The rubber stamped image has been matt and layered onto pink and then silver mirror card. Finishing card making embellishments are a deep pink fabric flower with a pearl centre and a peel off mother's Day sentiment.
This card started life as a blank white 6" x 6" card which had been covered with a yellow jazzy dot paper, again from cardmaking-Ideas. This complements the pale lemon tulip card topper which has been fixed directly onto the card. The card has been framed in pale green card which has had a scalloped oval cut out of its centre, and its corners have been rounded with a punch. When mounted over the topper it gives the impression of the topper having a lacy border which is quite nice. The finishing touches are the sentiment ribbon which has been mounted onto the green card,a lemon chiffon ribbon bow and glitter highlights on the tulips. Both the topper and the sentiment ribbon are available as part of a set from Cardmaking-Ideas
This is quite a large cream card blank which has had a Mother's Day Bouquet Topper and sentiment ribbon, from cardmaking-Ideas, matt and layered onto silver mirror card. The tulip bouquet has been decoupaged with a single layer (although that does not show up in this photograph) and highlighted with glitter. Each card has been finished off with an insert in a complimentary pastel shade. Just remember no matter what it looks like Handmade Mother's Day Cards are special!
