Making Birthday Cards - A Way of Letting Someone You Know That You Think They Are Special!......
Making Birthday Cards takes some thought, time and effort. The alternative is popping to the local convenience store and buying the first cheap card on the rack. Which would you appreciate receiving the most, and which do you think your friends and family would appreciate the most?
The answer really is obvious - taking the time to produce a special hand made birthday card will let the recipient know that you consider them special and have taken the time to think of them. By making a birthday card which reflects the person you show them that you really do care about them. Have you ever heard one of your friends or family say how much the card meant to them, even more than the gift? We have!
One of the secrets of good card making is matching the card to the intended recipient - for example if the card is for a man's birthday then it would be a bit silly to send him a handmade birthday card in pink florals with ribbon! Think about the interests the person has and try to make the card accordingly. If you do not have a wide selection of rubber stamps then look around for a suitable themed topper. The illustrated card was made for our good friend, Ben's, 50th Birthday. He owns a Mini, likes walking and is about to embark on a road trip to Italy. The background was rubber stamped with Versamark and gold Comic Shimmer powder was sprinkled over it. The numbers were die-cut using a Cricut machine and the George Cartridge. The basic numbers in green were embossed using the Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots Folder, before mounting them onto gold mirror card. Card Toppers were used to reflect Ben's interests. Let's hope he likes his special hand made card!
