Making a Man Card Can Be Easy!......
If you ask most card makers which card is the most difficult to make and the answer will be a card for a man, affectionately known as a "Man Card. But you should not find them daunting.
Maybe part of the problem is that there are so many floral and girly Background Papers available that the man themed stuff seems to get lost.
Card Toppers are a great way of making a quick "man card" - there are so many different subjects for you to choose from, including vintage, transport, sport, to name just a few. Just team them up with a matching background paper, and if necessary a little embellishment. There are a lot of suitable themed papers as this card illustrates - the argyle patterned paper from Cardmaking-Ideas comes in a variety of colours and is a great background paper, especially when teamed with the co-ordinating plain paper. The vintage Birthday Boy Topper also comes from Cardmaking-Ideas. Finishing touches are some pieces of brown ribbon .
Peel Off Stickers are also great when you are creating "Man Cards". There are many designs avaialable suitable for men. On this 18th birthday card the peel off stickers highlight what an 18 year old male may be interested in - i.e. cars and motorbikes. The large numbers have been cut using a Cricut machine and then they have been embossed using a Cuttlebug. They have been mounted onto silver Mirri card. To raise the numbers from the background paper double sided sticky pads have been used.
Whilst most people would not necessarily think of using Decoupage on a "man Card" there are lots of male themed decoupage sets out there. This simple card has focused on a large centre piece of decoupage with just the addition of letter embellishments. It could have been mounted onto a suitable background paper but the starkness of the white pearlescent card sets off the decoupage.
There are also lots of Rubber Stamps on the market which are suitable for male cards. Also consider using quirky stamps for "Man Cards".
