Nestabilities: Die Cuts and Embossing At The Turn Of A Handle........

Nestabilities, or "Nesties" as they are affectionately known as, have taken the crafting world by storm.

Nestabilities come in "nested" sets of smooth metal shapes. On one side of the shape there is a ridge running all around, and this is the cutting "blade".

To use the dies you will need a die cutting machine, such as the popular Cuttlebug, but the beauty of them is that they will work with any number of machines.

On most of the packets, and on the manufacturer's website there are instructions as to how to use them in different manufacurer's machines.

The same dies are used to emboss with and again refer to the manufacturer's compatibilty guide as to how to use them in your particular embossing machine.

Each set of Nestabilities works independently of any other set and the simplest way of using them is to create a mat, or frame, for a stamped image, as shown on this card.

This mat has been created using one single die from the Scalloped Edge Set. It has been left plain but you could have added glitter or gemstones on the scallops.

Although each set stands alone, a lot of the sets can also be used in conjunction with each other.

This delightful rubber stamped card topper has been created by using a circle die to cut around the image, then 2 different sized inverted scallops have been used for the inner mats, and then a larger scallop has cut the final mat.

By playing around with the dies you can create some interesting effects.

When you browse this website you will see that many of the cards have been made using Nestabilities.
