Get Pretty with Pastel Shades........
If you add White to any of the Secondary colours you will get Pastel Shades. The more white you add the paler the shade becomes. Using these colours in your cardmaking will give your cards a softer and lighter feel.
The most common pastel colours are: Pink, Blue, Lemon, Green, Violet, Cream and Orange.
This card was made for an anniversary but would do equally as well for a birthday card. A pastel pink and green floral Background Paper has been matt and layered onto a mat of pink card, and then a gold mirror card mat. This was fixed to a white linen base Card. The flourish was die cut with a Cricut from their Home Decor cartridge. The shadow is in the same pink card as the mat and the top is the gold mirror card.
The heart again came from the same cartridge and the gold was embossed through the Cuttlebug with the word "Love". The sentiment is a Peel Off matt and layered onto the pink and gold card. As a finishing touch the flower has been highlighted with glitter glue. To complement the front of the card a complementary pale green insert was used. Baby cards in pastel blues and pinks look perfect. Wedding and engagement cards in creams are both classy and traditional. Spring cards work extremely well when they are done in these colours. Pearlescent card works particularly well in any of the pastel shades, giving your cardmaking an expensive and luxurious feel.
