There's More to Spellbinders Nestabilities than just Matt and Layering............
The most common use for Spellbinders Nestabilities is to use them to matt and layer stamped images or toppers. But have you ever thought of using them to make a whole card with?
Here is a beautiful card, made by Linda, wholly from Nestabilities.
1.: Fold a piece of plain cardstock, in this case cream pearlescent has been used. 2: Using a Circle Nestability cut through both layers of card. IMPORTANT:When placing the Nestability die through your diecutting machine make sure that part of the die protrudes over the edge of the cardstock so that it will not cut. This makes the hinge of the card.
3: Using a complementary coloured cardstick (in this case purple pearlescent) cut 2 scalloped edge circles in a slightly larger size than the original cream card. 4: Attach one of the purple diecuts to the outside back of the card. This now forms the back of the card.
5: Take the remaining purple scalloped circle and, using your diecutting machine, cut a slightly smaller circle from the centre of it. You will therefore be left with 1 whole purple circle and a scalloped edged border circle. 6: Fix your purple circle onto the front of the card - this becomes the matt for either a topper or a previously rubber stamped image . In this case it is a cute rubber stamped image which has been coloured with Copic Marker Pens to complement the cardstock. The image has been stamped onto a smaller circle which sits on top of the purple matt. 7: Glue the cut scallop border to the inside of the card. You will have to cut the scallop short of the hinge to make sure that the card will close properly. 8: If you have a strong hole punch, punch 2 holes through the front of the card by the hinge. These will be for the ribbon to be threaded through. If you are unsure whether your punch will go through all the layers at once punch each one separately but take care to ensure that they do all line up. 9: Finishing touches are the fabric flowers which have been glued to the front of the card and a sentiment topper which has been fixed to the right hand side of the card. The finished result is a beautiful totally unique card - taking your card making to another level! Due to the finishing on the card it would be best to present the card in a matching box. It would then make a wonderful keepsake.
