Triple Embossing -Something a Little Different!.......

Triple Embossing is a relatively simple technique which just requires a little care. Once you've perfected it your friends will be seriously impressed by the results!

STEP 1: Choose a Pigment Ink Pad, either clear or whatever colour you want to work with. Ink over the area you want to have Triple Embossed.

STEP 2: Choose the Rubber Stamp image you want to use and set it to one side, where you can quickly reach it.

STEP 3: Sprinkle Embossing Powder all over the inked area. Gently tap off any excess.

STEP 4: Using your Heat Gun , heat up the embossing powder until it has melted.

STEP 5: Whilst the melted powder is still hot, sprinkle more embossing powder on top of it and heat it up again.

STEP 6: For a 3rd time, sprinkle more embossing powder onto the work and again reheat.

STEP 7: Using the pigment ink, ink up your rubber stamp.

STEP 8: Before the powder has cooled down stamp the image into the melted powder.

STEP 9: Let the embossing cool down a little before you try to remove the stamp. If you try to pull it away too soon the melted powder will be stringy and you will spoil the piece.

TIP: Don't panic if this happens - just reheat the embossing powder, add a little more, heat again and restamp!

In this card made by Sally, the shoe rubber stamp has been Triple Embossed. This has been matt and layered and fixed to the centre of the card.

The same stamp has then been used in a traditional way to make a background on the card. A simple ribbon completes the card.

IDEA Instead of using the same coloured embossing powder for each layer, use different colours.

This is a fun technique and you should have fun trying it out. Mix and match colours or just add a touch of metallic - it's your choice.

Use just one image on your card or make a number of smaller images so they look like a set of tiles.

IDEA: Triple Emboss around the edge of the card to create a frame effect.
