Valentine Card Making - Put Some Love Into Your World!......
Throughout the world February 14th is the day people celebrate Valentine's Day and Valentine Card Making has become only second to Christmas Card Making in its importance.
The day is named after St Valentine and is a day when you can send a declaration of your love to someone - and in many cases this is done anonymously which adds to the feelings of romance attached to the day.
Vintage handmade Valentine's cards are always popular. This particular card is very easy to make yet seems to convey all the passion associated with the day. The Vintage image card topper is one of a range available from Cardmaking-Ideas. It comes complete with its own purple border and this has been matt and layered onto lilac and then burgundy card. The card topper sentiment comes with the image and has also been matt and layered onto the lilac and burgundy card. Because the image is so intense no other embellishment is really needed.
This card on the other hand is what we would describe as the "cute and cuddly" card. The rubber stamped image is from "Forever Friends" and it has been mounted onto a heart cut from Nestabilities. The red dotty paper is again available from Cardmaking-Ideas. The bear had been coloured using water coloured pencils. The hearts border is one of Martha Stewarts border punches, and the hearts which it punched out have been used as the scatter hearts around the main image - waste not, want not! The finishing touch is a matching red bow. If you go to the Readers' Gallery there is a beautiful Valentine's Day card which Selma has made for her daughter. No matter what style you choose for your Valentine Card Making send a card and make someone's day!
