You've got your Tool Kit now you need to know the cardmaking essentials to set you on your way!

Getting together your cardmaking essentials is where the fun really begins!

This is where your creative journey starts and what an exciting journey it can be. It doesn't matter if you think you don't have a creative bone in your body. The fact you're looking at this web site proves that you do.

The starting place for your cardmaking essentials has to be blank card, or Card Stock as it is known in crafting circles.

For ease you can buy ready made card blanks or you can make your own. There is a huge variety of card available, both in colour, finishes and weight.Check out the section on Card Blanks to get more details on just what is around.

You will also need a selection of Cardmaking Papers. Again there is a vast range available and you should check out the Cardmaking Papers section to get more of a flavour of what's around. We know some crafters who buy paper and then feel it's too beautiful to cut!

There are a number of adhesive tapes which you will find useful for different tasks, including double-sided tape, masking tape and low tack tape. To start with we recommend easy-lift double sided tape.

You will also find that a range of Adhesives

will come in handy, including PVA glue, silicone glue, spray adhesive and a glue stick or glue pen. To start with we recommend silicone glue and a glue pen.

For matting and layering and Decoupage you will need some adhesive foam pads.

Although not strictly cardmaking essentials if you decide you want to branch out into Rubber Stamping then you will need some rubber stamps. Start slowly and build up your collection as you can. You might decide to get together with some like minded friends and share your stamps.

You will also need Ink Pads for your rubber stamping. There are a huge variety of them and you should check out their own special section on this site to find out more about what they all do.

Again whilst not cardmaking essentials, Embellishments and Toppers add variety and interest to your cardmaking. There is a huge range avaliable and what you decide to use will depend on your own taste and the style of card you want to make.

And don't forget once you have assembled your basic kit you can use it for other crafts as well as card making
